AERO DEVELOPMENT PROCESS
Our aerodynamic development process begins with 3D scanning and analyzing the stock OEM car to establish a baseline for potential improvements. We start with the industry-standard RANS (Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes) simulations, commonly used in automotive and motorsports applications. Drawing on decades of best practices, we meticulously configure the mesh and solver settings, incorporating a combination of wall functions and direct boundary layer resolution. For turbulence modeling, we employ the K-Omega SST model, making strategic adjustments based on correlation data to ensure maximum accuracy. The tires are modeled as smooth surfaces with a rotating wall function, while the wheels utilize a Moving Reference Frame (MRF) to simulate rotation even in steady-state analysis.
